Hitting the Books

For those of you who don't know, I'm back at BYU-Idaho. Even though this is just the beginning of my third week, I've already had 3 quizzes and two tests (with two more tests to come tomorrow) and an oral interview in my Spanish class. I've only seen my Book of Mormon teacher twice (as he's had two surgeries and complications with that). This semester has gotten off to a crazy start, but I feel like it's going to be a great semester. :)

Dairy Free

So today was my very first official day being off dairy.
It's not hard so far... so we'll see how this goes. For breakfast I had a piece of chicken from dinner last night and a pear. For lunch/brunch I had tuna (straight from the can) and an apple with peanut butter and for dinner flank steak, hasbrowns and green beans. Not too bad. All I need to do now is add that "green" drink that Dr. Schore wants me to drink. It's vegetables blended together. Blech! Who knows.. it could be good....???

Fall Fun

The past couple weeks have been really fun- I've been hanging out with my friends at home more. We went to a corn maze and we've gone out to dinner and we had a fun night decorating cookies (although I couldn't eat one, I decorated one anyway). Here are some pictures from the past week or so.

California Adventures

Can you guess where I am??

Mickey loves me. He grabbed me and pulled me in.

Standing in line waiting for Soarin' Over California

Buzz Lightyear ride. I got such a good score.

Look at that view! (in our hotel) You can see the Tower of Terror!

the way cool train station!

Eating dinner at Chiquitas.

In front of Chiquitas.

This random mexican got on our bus and sang to us on our way back to the border.

a little piece of mexico for your enjoyment.

After making a quick pit stop in Ensenada, the crew of the Black Pearl is ready to head back to Tortuga. (Actually, yes. This is is the Black Pearl and it is in Ensenada.)

Our tour bus.

In Ensenada!

So happy but a little burnt.

The famous Rosarito Beach hotel. We stayed at this location for 45 minutes.

Bienvenidos! You are in Rosarito!

There are two fences at the border- the first fence (according to the guide) was more like a ladder which helped mexicans over, (the red fence) so they have begun the process of building the second fence (the grey one) to ensure that after you climb the first fence, you will be stopped by the second fence. But technically, once you reach the second fence you are already on american soil.

This was our drop off location for our trip to Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada.

Mission Beach- the beach we spent our time at.

Petting a dolphin at Seaworld.

Jaden and me at the Fish Market for dinner the 1st night which also happened to be grandpa's and grandma's 52nd wedding anniversary.

Standing in front of the Midway aircraft carrier.

This picture was taken just after arriving in San Diego. Jenny and I went for a walk down grandpa's street.
